1 NIGHT 2 DAYS MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

We recommend Mikumi National Park, a wildlife safari destination with a wide variety of animal species, for a two-day, one-night game drive. The park was founded in 1964, is located 283 kilometers west of Dar es Salaam, and is generally regarded the country's fourth largest national park. Stay the night at the magnificent Camp Bastian resort, complete with hot showers, flush toilets, and a swimming pool.

ITINERARY 

Day 1: Dares salaam to Mikumi
We will meet and greet at your hotel in Dar es Salaam. We will then transfer to Mikumi National Park by road for a journey of about six and a half hours. It's important to leave early in the morning, around 6:00 am to beat the Dar morning traffic jam. You will stop for an en-route hot lunch in Morogoro town.
You will enjoy the drive through the heartland of Tanzania and this will provide you with a great opportunity to see how the local people live (from the road).
On arrival, you can choose to check in and refresh at the lodge and then proceed to the park and enjoy an afternoon-to-sunset game drive.
There are lots of animals at Mikumi - huge African elephants, lions, wild dogs, zebras, giraffes, impalas, hyenas, buffaloes, wildebeests, antelopes, hartebeests, crocodiles, lizards, and hippos. The park also has over 300 species of birds that have been observed. Dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian. 

Day 2: Mikumi and back
After breakfast, you will do a morning game drive in Mikumi NP. The park is beautiful during the morning hours. You will indeed feel transported to another world. You are sure to see the morning hunters such as lions and the African wild dogs as they search for the early meal of the day.

Afterward, you will exit the gates of the park and start the drive back to Dar.
