This 3-day safari from Morogoro combines classic wildlife viewing in Mikumi National Park with a scenic hiking experience in Udzungwa Mountains National Park. It is an ideal short safari for travelers who want to experience both game drives and nature walks in southern Tanzania.
Mikumi offers open savannah landscapes with excellent chances to see big game, while Udzungwa is known for its rainforest, endemic primates, and the beautiful Sanje Waterfalls.

Tour Description
Day 1: Morogoro – Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Pick up from your hotel or residence in Morogoro at 07:30 AM and depart by safari vehicle to Udzungwa Mountains National Park.
Upon arrival, begin a guided hike through the tropical rainforest to the famous Sanje Waterfalls. Along the trail, you may encounter unique primates such as the Udzungwa red colobus and Sanjemangabey, as well as a variety of bird species.
At the waterfalls, enjoy time to relax, take photos, and swim in the natural pools. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park.
Later, transfer to Mikumi for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park is well known for the Mkata Floodplain, often compared to the Serengeti due to its wide open plains and rich wildlife.
During the game drive, you may see elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species. Hippos and crocodiles are commonly found in waterholes, and the park is also rich in birdlife.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with afternoon game viewing.
Return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Mikumi – Morogoro
After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive. Early hours provide a good opportunity to spot predators and active wildlife.
Later, exit the park and drive back to Morogoro with arrival expected in the early afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or residence.
